RWA protocols just overtook DEXs to become the fifth-largest category in DeFi by TVL, per DeFi Llama — $17 billion and rising. Following its final governance actions, TrueFi will sunset. In its place, Brila Finance reflects a shift toward more structured, intentional credit markets.
That rebrand reflects a broader build. Brila acquired Cyan, a revenue-generating NFT lending protocol with $25M in historical loan volume and battle-tested infrastructure for collateralizing ERC-721 and ERC-1155 assets. The acquisition added a third yield primitive to the stack: alongside private credit vaults and Elara's treasury management solution (currently undergoing audits), NFTs now function as productive balance sheet assets that can generate yield rather than sitting idle.
In Brila, those three primitives converge. Cyan's lending and vault infrastructure is live, enabling NFT-backed loans and BNPL. Private credit layers in through Brila RWA's Credit Vaults. Elara ties it together as the treasury management layer. The result is a blended yield engine. Not a single product, but a portfolio of options under one ecosystem.
